Richard Mahoney

Richard Mahoney:

Proprietor (along with wife Robyn) and manager of Better Tyres Nowra with over 30 years experience in the tyre industry servicing all  types of customers from single car families, to massive truck fleets. Richard prides himself on finding the tyre that best suits the individual and their budget, he insists that everyone at Better Tyres concentrates on providing the best possible service to all customers. Richard is a one eyed fan of  the South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL team and celebrated the club’s twenty first premiership long and hard in October 2014. His favourite current players are John Sutton, Adam Reynolds and Sam Burgess. Shoalhaven local Dylan Farrell is still  popular even though he switched to the Dragons for the 2014 season after making his first grade debut and playing three seasons with the Bunnies. Richard has a passion for old cars of most types, particularly hot rods & muscle cars and owns a couple himself, he enjoys helping sort out wheels and tyre sizes for those restoring or building them.

Robyn Mahoney

Robyn Mahoney:

Co-owner of Better Tyres and administration guru, Robyn handles the accounts and pays the bills and is the power behind the man. Although she is not in the store full time her contribution is immeasurable, the place wouldn’t run without her. She occasionally helps out at the counter as well because she likes things to run smoothly. A doting mum of two, she is also a passionate Rabbitohs supporter who rarely has an unkind word to say about anyone, she is the nice one in the family. She has a soft spot for all the staff at Better tyres and has occasionally saved them when the boss is on the warpath about something.

Aydan Mahoney

 Aydan Mahoney:

Aydan joined our team in July 2013, he has completed his Certificate in Tyre Fitting and has since attained his trade ticket for wheel alignments. He has a number of years experience in retail customer service and is keen to help at the counter. Like his parents he is a mad South Sydney supporter and was over the moon to see the Rabbitohs finally deliver a premiership in 2014.  Aydan has a wicked sense of humour and takes great delight in stirring his old man or as we call it “poking the bear”. After leaving us in July 2014 to try his hand at Landscaping he returned to the team in February 2016.

Innis McCarthy: 

Innis joined the Better Tyres Team in late May 2017 and is our current mechanical maestro. He brings a wealth of experience with him after running his own business in St Georges Basin for a number of years. Innis is fully qualified and is a wiz with log book services & repairs etc, he also has an up to date scan tool for those difficult to sort out problems. He can do rego checks on all light vehicles petrol or LPG & is happy working on late model cars as well as older vehicles which makes him a perfect fit for our customers. He has proven to be a happy and easy to get along with character making him popular with other staff and customers alike.
